Promise #86: Wish more, fret less
standing on the edge of monday (read: 6:30 am)
wishing the universe could deliver:
five more minutes, a hotter cup of better-tasting coffee, maybe just another Sunday
knowing monday’s uncontrollable suck and blow is just thirty minutes away
it’s a cross between a dyson and a plunger
inhale exhale inhale exhale
the most you can do is sink your soles
a little deeper into the earth
and have faith
even the most delicate roots are fiercely strong
intertwining amongst themselves, rock, debris, anything that’s there
it’s always enough
to keep you firmly grounded
while you let your mind wish its way through five days of hot air

Well, that made me smile. Hopefully it will just give us all a little more umph to deal with the day!

you make mondays sound downright inviting, sugar! and you talk of roots entwining . . . which is exactly what it feels like is happening now on so many fronts, with so many women. (hint: you are one.) thank you for the #365 Altars mention in this lovely, lovely post. aren’t the altars being created and shared beautiful? have you been to the flickr group? some are the same, some are different there. i would try to describe them, but words just get in the way.

jeanne-so funny that i messaged you through facebook at the time you were sending this comment through. i was just trying to wrangle monday, really, i’m so glad that you found it all inviting.
i do hope everyone clicks your 365 altar link and signs on because what you’re doing and the space you’ve created is so inspiring…it’s amazing to see all the altars and see the “work” being done, not that honoring yourself is work, or is it? i just took a peak at flikcr, too…it’s really an amazing group of shared homage to the soul.
thank you for being so present!
