Promise #70: Don’t get porked

My friend discovered bacon when he was 20 years old. The moment he bit into his first BLT sandwich he knew he needed to make up for lost time. He ordered two more BLTs that day and then spent the next two months living high on the hog, so to speak.
Problem is, he was raised within kosher walls. So his discovery was not really kosher at all.
Or was it?
“Bacon’s not pork, it’s bacon,” he emphatically reasons. I’m with him.
He’s enjoying his little slice of life on his own terms.
It all boils down to a system of beliefs. If you oversimplify this, it’s your world’s system versus yours. It’s your society, religion, political group, organization, company, school, neighborhood, friends, family, etc., vying for a piece of your noggin, a sliver of your being.
If you blindly follow how will you ever know, truly know, what does and does not work for you? How will determine whether or not you’re just being porked?
