Promise #43: Stop

Seriously. Just stop.

Stop thinking about work.

Stop dreaming about sales.

Stop worrying about what’s next, what’s left, what’s right and what’s wrong.

Stop hoping for more.

Stop wishing for less.

Stop wondering about the future.

Stop contemplating the past.

Stop asking for guidance.

Stop looking for gratitude.

Stop.

Look at the people to your right. And the ones to your left. Look at those that are taller, and the ones so much smaller.

Share a laugh or a smile. Give a kiss, hug or hello. These are your lucky stars.

Stop and thank them for lighting up your world.

A wonderful thought as we enter the notoriously busy holiday season. The hope is of blissful happy days anticipating joyful family get togethers, snow falling, warm cookies, spicy cider. The reality, at least for me, is usually far from it and involves high stress worrying about finding the most perfect and memorable gift, double booking on those holiday get togethers, burned fingers when I get sloppy taking the cookies out of the oven during a midnight bake-a-thon. This year I’ll remember, just “STOP” and say thank you and not worry about all the ‘hallmark-induced’ expectations.

    • I know. I know. You are not alone. The only expectation we should have
is one of peace, yet when the ball starts rolling peace flies out the
      window. It’s so wrong.

I hope you do stop this season…spare your fingers, say goodbye to
stress and don’t overbook anything at any time for anyone. Breathe…
